Dell’s new notebooks and desktop PC: Vostro

Dell launched its new range of notebooks and desktop computers under brand name ‘Vostro’. The designed notebooks have been designed for the small businesses.

“Vostro brand products and services have been designed specifically for simple network and businesses with less than 25 employees,” Dell India vice-president and general manager Rajan Anandan said.

The systems include three notebooks Vostro 1000, 1400 and 1500 with screens ranging from 14 to 17 inches, and starting prices at Rs 31,000($ 790). Two desktop version Vostro 200 mini-tower and Vostro 200 Slim Tower will be available at starting price of Rs22, 900 ($ 567).

In the beginning, Dell will import these products and later it will manufacture these in India. The company will use its existing channels for distribution and is also talking to the big players in the segment. The company has plans for direct sales too.

With the launch of new products, Dell is expecting a growth of over 30 per cent in its revenue in the current fiscal. Its turnover was Rs 2,000 crore last year.

These innovative products were launched by Paul Henri Ferrand (Corner), president Dell Asia Pacific South (APACS); Rajan Anandan (L), vice president and general manager Dell India and Vivek Mohindra, vice president of Worldwide Business Client Marketing and Strategy.
